Meet Jemma, A delightfully unconventional performer.
Inspired at a young age by the enticing world of musicals like Cabaret, Rocky Horror and Chicago, Jemma's journey took root in the performing arts. Their story began with the structured elegance of classical and contemporary dance.
Their quest for artistic expertise led them through prestigious facilities like Newtown High School of the Performing Arts, Brent Street and the Victorian College of the Arts.
Navigating the industry with a diverse array of skills and a penchant for individuality drew them to the fringes of festivals, the freaks of circus and the eroticism of cabaret.
As a solo artist, Jemma has left stages glowing across NSW, Victoria and Adelaide. Emotion is their muse and they craft from the heart, drawing inspiration from the depths of their experiences as a queer, gender-fluid, adult entertainer and artist.
More recently, Jemma has begun working in collaborations, producing the ensemble show Clownthrob and touring with circus productions. Being a part of something greater than themselves has been a longstanding dream.
Beyond the spotlight, Jemma embodies many dualities. They are an introvert with a magnetic spark. Their dark, dry sense of humour coexists with a love for pastels, velvet and anything fluffy. They carry the romance and the savagery of femme existence in this moment of time.
